Homeopathy for Kids

About half of my clients are children, from newborns to teenagers, and I love working with them. As the mother of three daughters, I understand the responsibility we have as parents for the health and wellbeing of our children as they grow and eventually become adults. I’ve seen my daughters blossom into the beautiful, strong, creative young women they are with the help of homeopathy. It’s gratifying to know that when younger people are given homeopathic remedies, they are so much healthier throughout their lifetime than they might have been otherwise. Homeopathy is one of the few systems of medicine that has the power to take away problematic inherited symptoms and conditions, such as eczema, allergies, asthma, migraines and digestive issues. Learning and emotional issues can be addressed beautifully with homeopathy as well.

Kids Love My Office

I've set my office up so that young children are comfortable and have plenty to do while we talk for an hour or two. I have baskets full of toys, a shelf full of books, art supplies and soft balls. I request that parents bring snacks and drinks for their children, in case they’re hungry. Most kids are quite happy to play while I ask questions of them and their parents. While they are playing, I’m observing the ways they interact with me and their parents and siblings, what parts of the conversation interest them, and whether they want to sit quietly and read or play more actively with toys. This is important information for me in terms of choosing a remedy. I also ask how the mom’s pregnancy and child’s birth were, what they were like as infants and toddlers, whether they were in the “normal” range for milestones, how they relate to friends and if they’re in preschool or school, how they manage the social and academic expectations.

Working with Older Kids

When I meet with older children and teens, I usually spend some time with them individually, and then spend some time just with their parents. I find parents and children can then give me information in a more comfortable atmosphere.
